In December 2020, Grubhub expanded commission-free online ordering solutions to Grubhub restaurant partners to make it easier for restaurants to offer online ordering through their own digital channels or on-premise properties. These new solutions give Grubhub restaurant partners more ways to leverage Grubhub technology to fulfill orders and grow their business.

How does the Direct Order Toolkit work?

The Direct Order Toolkit features a Direct Order Link, Direct Order Button, and a Direct Order QR Code. These resources take your customers to your Grubhub menu page and include a special tracking code so that Grubhub recognizes these customers came from your channels. When a customer places an order from any of these links, we won’t charge a marketing fee. After all, you did the marketing that brought in the order! Direct Order Links are always free for you to use, and you can retrieve them at any time from your Profile page in your Grubhub for Restaurants account. How to access your Direct Order Toolkit:

All Direct Order Toolkit solutions are located within your Grubhub for Restaurants Account. To access your Direct Order Toolkit please follow these steps:

• Sign in to your Grubhub for Restaurants Account
• Navigate to your profile page from the left-hand side menu
• Once on your profile page, scroll to the bottom to find your Direct Order Toolkit
• From this module, you can access your Direct Order Short link, Direct Order Button, and Direct Order QR Code

Direct Order Link

The Direct Order Link is an ordering URL restaurant can use to direct customers to order from the restaurant’s Grubhub page. The Direct Order Link can be used:

• On your social media: think Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more
• In marketing emails to your customers
• On direct mailers to those within your delivery boundaries
• On your digital menu to help customers know where to order
• Anywhere else your customers might see it, where it would encourage them to order from your menu

How to access your Direct Order Link:

To access your Direct Order Toolkit please follow these steps:

• Sign in to your Grubhub for Restaurants Account
• Navigate to your profile page from the left-hand side menu
• Once on your profile page, scroll to the bottom to find your Direct Ordering Toolkit
• From this module, you can access your Direct Order Link

Direct Order QR Code

You can use your Direct Order QR Code to share with your customers your restaurant’s Grubhub page:

• Printed on your tables for customers to order contact-free
• On your social media; think Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more!
• In marketing emails to your customers

How to access your Direct Order QR Code

• Sign in to your Grubhub for Restaurants account
• Navigate to your profile page from the left-hand side menu
• Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will find the module for the Direct Ordering Toolkit
• On the right side of the Direct Order module, you can select your QR Code by clicking “Download a QR Code”

Direct Order Button

Previously known as an Online Ordering Button, we’ve given these buttons a facelift. Now, you’re able to generate your own custom button with just a few clicks. Each button generates a unique piece of HTML for embedding on your website for customers to order from, while you pay no marketing fees. Note: Your restaurant’s website may not allow for you to edit the HTML, if this is the case, there should be a prefilled “add a button” option. Follow the directions for copying + pasting your Direct Ordering Shortlink into the “add a button” field, and your website should populate a button for you. If your website allows you to edit HTML, follow these steps below to learn how to retrieve and set up your Direct Ordering Button.

How to access your Direct Order Button:

• Sign in to your Grubhub for Restaurants account
• Navigate to your Profile page on the left-hand side menu
• Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will find the module for the Direct Ordering Toolkit
• In the middle of the module, you will see your Direct Order Button. To customize, select ”Customize a button”
• After clicking this button, you’ll see a menu pop-up like the one below. From there, you can choose what is best for your restaurant
