Grubhub is excited to announce that we have teamed up with the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) for the NGLCC Community Impact Grant.

The NGLCC Community Impact Grant is designed to offer string-free funds for struggling LGBTQ+owned and ally restaurants impacted by COVID-19. The grants are expected to range from $5,000 to $100,000.

Founded in 2002, the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) has become the largest global advocacy organization devoted to expanding economic opportunities and advancements within the LGBT community. In addition, the NGLCC is the exclusive certification body for LGBT-owned businesses.

LGBTQ+ owned, and ally restaurants and bars owners have been among the hardest hit by COVID-19 over the past two years. “We often say at NGLCC that ‘if you can buy it, and LGBTQ+ owned business can supply it. That is especially true of the LGBTQ+-owned restaurant across America who kept our communities and first responders fed through the pandemic.” said NGLCC Co-Founder and President Justin Nelson, “We’re proud to partner with Grubhub in offering these grants to support these businesses throughout the nation. America’s 1.4 million LGBTQ+ owned business owners have shown incredible resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now, in turn, we can help them recover stronger than ever.”

How to apply for the NGLCC Community impact Grant program

Eligible restaurants across the country can apply for the NGLCC & Grubhub Community Pact Grant program to receive a grant between $5,000 and $100,000. Under this grant program, the NGLCC will allocate 30% of the funds to the businesses owned by people of color and transgender/gender non-conforming individuals. The grant application is currently open and will close on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

  • To qualify for grant assistance, LGBTQ+-owned and allied restaurants must meet all the following requirements:
  • Be an LGBTQ+-owned or LGBTQ+ ally-owned restaurant, bar or café that serves food
  • Demonstrate a loss of business due to the COVID-19 pandemic (This information will only be used for purposes of determining eligibility)
  • Provide proof that you are an LGBTQ+-owned or LGBTQ+-allied establishment

In November 2021, grants will be distributed to selected restaurants. The largest grantees will receive their awards during the NGLCC Back To Business (B2B) Summit in Hollywood, Florida.

To apply for the grant, restaurant owners can fill out a short form providing all the relevant information. Restaurants wishing to apply for grants should visit www.nglcc.org/ghgrant
